Pflerschtal is a valley that really should be explored on foot. Enjoy a pleasant walk in the valley, a spectacular view walking on the ridges of the Dolomites or climb the peak of the Tribulaun, the three thousander at the end of the valley – there is something for everyone!
Cycling and mountain biking
Hotel Erna lies right on the cyle path Brenner-Bozen which ascends and descends into Pflerschtal or towards the South. Mountainbikers usually prefer the adventurous trails along the Brenner Grenzkamms or the impegnative Level 5 Mountain Cross over steep mountain passes. At the end of your cycle ride you can wash your bike and leave it in our bike shed. The cycle shop just round the corner has everything you may need while you are holidaying here with us.
Sunbathe under the trees and then cool off in the pool : the local outdoor pool is just a few steps away from Hotel Erna and our guests are entitled to free entry. The pool has two heated pools, a large grassy sunbathing area and the many trees offer plenty of shade on hot days.
Singles or doubles? Use our tennis court free of charge to practice your groundstrokes.
The South Tyrolean mining museum in Ridnaun, the Kanppen chapel of St. Barbara (15th Century) and the Baroque style church in Gossensass or Castle Wolfsthurn in Mareit by Sterzing, also Baroque style : if you are looking to soak up a bit of culture, there is enough on offer here. Other events in Sterzing include the Sterzing Joghurt days in July and August, the lantern parties on Summer evenings in the old town accompanied by local music and delicacies, or the well loved Dumpling Party in the middle of September.
